10/19/2025---Sunday Storm/Wind

The morning kept me inside doing
the stripping but the minute we got
a bit of sun it was time to go out
and pick up what had come down
overnight with the rain.

Before:

It took two trips but 45 minutes
later is was done!  2 bags of
mulched maple leaves were
taken off the north yard.

Tropical Hibiscus

Today was the day to start the stripping
process due to the cutting back on the
watering and the leaves were starting
to turn yellow!  That I do is take the
larger thicker outside leaves off and
clean all the maple leaves out of it.

Before:

This is the sign to start stripping
process.

After 2 hours of stripping:

I have a few more to go but I'll need
the ladder to reach them

10/13/2025 Last Plant Is Inside!!

Now to strip her!

The heaters have been placed in
the greenhouses and all is well
and I can rest up for the next journey.

Had to move it to the other side of the
room!

Wed. Project

Went to clean up under the trees on the
north fence line that I couldn't cleanup
until Wed.  Stuff is still dropping out
of the trees and the whole north side of
our property.  Again due to climate change
we are seeing evergreen trees dying.  I
took 12 1/2 pickle buckets off the garden
bed!  There is more in the grass but
they can't be vac up.  We have evergreen
sprigs all over the place!  Still coming
down!!

I have vac up this area and there is no way to get
it all cleaned out.

I had to rake this area 4 times to get
most of the stuff up.  All I can say is
it's smothering the plants we have planted
here in the two beds.  I won't water
this area anymore due to the roots
from the other trees.

Nanas Down

Today's task was to take all the nanas
down and this year we are lining the
inside of our fence to keep the critters
from digging up under the fence.

All Down!  These came crashing down!

Tarps Are On!

Since we have had some 40
degree morning weather it's
was time to put the tarps on.

The Brug house was a breeze
as we have been using the same
tarp for several years.

Then it was time to tackle the greenhouse and
the hoop house, this year there a new tarp for
both the greenhouse and the hoop house.  What
fun it was to get that tarp on!

Front

 Back

All on tarp to cover both houses.  We will have
to see how or if water pond on the tarps.

Brugmansia Tester

I asked a gardener friend in the midwest
early this year if he would mind testing my 3
2024 seedlings.  I also treated him to a
rooted B. Shorty's Variegated for his
helping me out.

This past week he sent me photos of
what he was testing.

B. Shorty's Variegated:

This is a new seedling:

We are seeing signs of pink in her
as she ages.  The tester recommended
the name Pink Lemonade for her.

Another seedling being tested:

Came from the Mother / B. Dusty above.

Isn't She So Breath Taking?

This is off one of our variegated
Hydrangeas.

Brugmansia Are Blooming

In the green and brug houses.

They are sure happy now that they are protected!

Hoop House

Here is where we store the potted plants
that can stay outside but we give them
protection.

Rose of Sharon

Our double pink.

Our Variegated.

The above one was found on one of our solid
green shrubs several year ago and not purchased.
There is one the market now from what I have
learned.
I have noted several seedpods on this one
this year.  So I'm excited to see if the variegation
carries on.

We have several others from white to rose but
since I cut them back last fall to the ground
they won't bloom this year.

Fall is the time of year to get cuttings.

That Time Of Year!

10/5/2025

Today was my day to put out the
other bones and the girl at the front
door.   Just getting out what I can
when I have extra time.

I am in hopes that the bones will
stop the rodents/squirrels from
digging in the dirt.

Just a little more to go!

Had to go out and take some photos
of the glow!

Just adding more!
