Fresh Air----NOT

 I was out first thing this morning, it

was nice to finally get some fresh air!!

But when I went to the veggie garden 

area I could smell smoke!  Having all 

the windows open I went back inside 

and had to close all the windows.  Smoke

had filled the house, again!  Ya know 

I'm tired of the smell of smoke when it's

not a forest fire!  All our plants smell of

smoke and it's starting to take a tole!

After yesterday's clean up I needed to 

dead head and clean up the plants as they

had to deal with the smoke for the past

weekend.  

Smoke isn't healthy for humans or for

plants and if you saw what it's doing

to the north trees you would understand.

The pines are dropping junk into our

yard!  The north property line is littered

with the north neighbor's pine junk!  They

don't water the trees and burn in the fire

pit all the time.  Yes, they are burning

yard debris!

Smoke causes health issues!

I'll be cleaning the window of our home

due to the smoke leaves a film you can see!

I washed down out north door to the house

and the towel was black!  Yes they burn that

much!

Going on 6 hours of burning!

Here Comes The Smoke!!

From Canada and fires to the north

of us!   Our plants will take a huge

hit with this.  

I hope folks around us understand

what we live with and remember this

when they fire up their fire pits.  There

are some of us that can't do the smoke!

Stay inside!

I want to thank my dearest friend that

has turned us onto 'Rainmaker.'

Cooling Down Some!

 I spent my morning putting the 

Brugmansia back into the yard.

Some of them were stripped to 

just the top leaves and some are

in bud, which I hope they keep 

and don't drop.  They have a couple

more months before they are moved

into their Brug House for the winter.

The cabbage worms have arrived!

Tree Peony Seedpods

 This has been a strange year!  

This past weekend I noticed that

some of the seeds were yellowing

and I knew the heat was coming.

I sure didn't want them to pop open

and drop the seeds.  So nip nip!

To my surprise they were different

from what I have seen in the past.

This is what I usually see the seeds shape.

The above is what I harvested and found

this one was stunning!

Today was the day to crack them open.

I was able to get a small tray planted with 

some great seeds.  Now we wait to see

if they come up.  I still have a couple dozen

seeds to plant.
