A Great Day To Work In The Yard!

It was so peaceful, we got a lot
done.  Hopefully I can start taking
some plants out of the greenhouses.
I have a majority of the Clematises
out and wrapped with deer netting.
I even have some in bud!  Way to
early.  Even the Bearded Irises are
in bud a month early.

2025 Yard Clean up!

As you can see we just haven't
had to clean up the yard for a couple
months.  It's been nice!  But we have
been having lots of rain storms with
wind.  I did get a lot cleaned up in
Jan and February.  When I walk the
yard I pick up what I find.  I can tell
you I have pulled a full pickle bucket
of Dandelions and 3/4 bucket of
Thistle in the last month beside
spraying Round up.
Our pride is a weedless yard but
the past couple years it's called
for the use of chemicals!

Yep, we are using Round Up!  Then
this past week I had to spray for Crab
Grass, which I'll have to do again in
a week.  No appointments at that time.

We also returned one of our Yard
Debris Bins as we are currently
only filling up 2 bins not 3.

Maple Seed season!!!

We are up to 3 pickle buckets of
them picked up so far.  More in
the flower beds, time to vac.

5/1/2025

It was time to vac up the seeds
now that most of them had dried
out.  3 1/2 bags of shredded maple
seeds were taken off our flower
beds, with a full pickle bucket
of evergreen sprigs and sticks
from the maple tree.  Just part of
the clean up so we can show our
yard.

5/3/2025

The wind has been bad for the past
few days and the Maple seeds are
all over the yard.  I had to mow
again today the north yard to pick
up all the seeds than vac up what
I could.  A full bag of seeds and
then a full bag of shredded seeds
when I vac.  More tomorrow!

5/7/2025

I'm having to mow to get all the
maple seeds out of the lawn.  They
are being blown all over the yard
this year.  The bag is mostly shredded
maple seeds and I have to hand pick
up the limbs and evergreen sprigs which
has been a full bucket full.  I have had
to wait to pick up the flower beds and
since my time has been limited to clean
up the beds we are starting to see the
little sugar ants.  A quick spray has
stopped them but they will return due
to the maple seeds are their food source.
