April 15th Opening Gardens

Every year we open the gardens on April 15th
but this year it's going to be delayed.  We
received a certified letter from the neighbors
to the west and in this letter we were
informed that they are taking out the
last 4 -- 80+ foot fir trees on April 9th
and they stated that it could take
2 to 3 days.

We are glad they are finally taking them
out due to all the damage these trees have
done to our fence and yard over the past years.
Again recently we had branches come down
and again a letter was sent to them due to
branches dangling.

On Nov. 16th of 2017 if you remember that
post they removed 2 trees on the north due
to what our Arborist we hired and a local
tree trimmer told them that they were split.
Here is the mess they left us during the
growing season.  We had asked in our
letter that they do not do of this during
the growing season as our yard will
take the blunt of their removal.

We had wood chips all over the yard
roof and driveway out front.  No notice
and no way to protect our beautiful
gardens.  We watched their tree
trimmers cut these down and no way
would we allow them into the yard
due to the plants were already up.

Again they have offered to cleanup
our yard and we have written them
back with a decline as again this
isn't the time of year for them as
our gardens will be up.   Our
original letter to them in 2017
stated they need to do their
cutting when the yard is dormant.

Besides I have just spent the last couple
weeks cleaning up the winter mess to
allow for the plants to come up.  We
are already seeing spring plants pop up.

The cleanup was done so that when I
have knee surgery it won't have to be
done and I can rest for the gardening
season.

It's cleaned of the fir needles and it better
stay this clean!

Last date for frost is the 15th of April!

We are in the process of trying to figure
out how we can safely cover the back yard
and not do damage to the plants that
are currently coming up.

We also are concerned about the branches
that have been dangling for the past year
that were not taken care of.

Sadly, we are not going to be opening
the gardens until it's safe to allow
visitors.  Please make an appointment
so your trip isn't wasted.  Click the
comment button or if you have our
business card you will find the email
address at the bottom.

Thank you!!

We have the first two pieces of putting
up some shade to keep our hostas safe
when these are removed.

Plans have changed the the greenhouse
isn't going to work like we had hoped.

Here is the plan now.  We are in the process
of putting up two gazebos back to back
and hope to have the tops up by this weekend.
