Perennial Hibiscus In Bloom

Can you tell which one is our favorite?

Heat damage.

Here We Go Again!!

Another branch has split and there are a couple
more branches headed downward.   Yes, right
over over the area that was taken out just a couple
years ago.

Yes a letter went out to both the neighbor and
insurance folks.

10/7/2020  Finally this branch was removed
with a few others.  It just boggles the mind
how high these trees are limbed up and not
removed!   These are oozing sap like you
wouldn't believe.

No notice of work or did they offer to clean
up the mess in our yard.......good neighbor??

Neighbor to the North

For the past week we have had to deal with
them burning in their firepit and this
morning it started at 8:15am.  We are
currently under a burn ban but who cares??
All we can do it turn on the sprinklers
to hopefully knock down the smoke and
close all our windows.  85 degrees and
this went most of the day yesterday.

Yes, they know about our breathing issues, he
has also admitted that their daughter also has
asthma.   It just boggles the mind with the
virus and health issue that folks continue to burn.

Putting in a New Lawn.

A week ago I started to kill the lawn with
the  help of Mother Nature when our temps
in the high 90s.
First was to lower the mower and scalp the
grass, then to spray Roundup and watch it die.
Four days later, it was time to again spray
Roundup on the areas that were missed.
Once it was yellow then it was again time to lower
the mower to the lowest level and take off the
extra grass.  Then the next step is to water the
area, a good soaking.  It has been so dry, it sure
needed to be watered.

Next to purchase the grass seed and fertilizer.
Yep, one needs to fertilize the lawn area before
putting out the seed.   Went to Home Depo to
get the fertilizer and found that they anytime
fertilizer wasn't there.   I then opted to use the
new lawn fertilizer and hope it works like the bag
states.   The to select the grass seed, yes overseed
is the key!! So buy enough and for this area the
date is Sept. 1 to have this down in time to make
it through the winter months.

Someone asked why we killed our beautiful grass, simple
if one takes a serious look at our lawn and see the difference
in the grasses.  If you allow some of these grasses to grow
they will take over.  We also try to keep the weeds out and that
can be a challenge when no one around you control their weeds
and thistle.   Folks allow them to go to seed and the wind blows
it all over.  We try to do the weed free lawn but this year has been
so bad.

Yes, one should kill the grass before putting down seeds, if you
don't you just will not have good grass.  If you don't kill the lawn
the weeds are still there and you waste the money on seeds.   Another
tip is don't scalp your yard when you mow, raise the mower up and allow
the grass to grow in the heat of the summer.   Plus water!!  Proper lawn
care is what adds value to your home.

We are currently seeing baby fine grass coming up in just short of a
week after putting down new seed.

These photos were taken after our
second mowing this spring.

Our Blog

We are in the process of looking for a different site for our blog.

It has been brought to my attention that
again our site isn't secure after receiving
a call from a local number.  I have not
switched the settings to make it unsecure and
have sent off feedback to Google about
this issue.  This is now the 'second time'
this has happened.  I'm sure some of you
get the message as the site isn't secure and
you are at risk.  I am working on this
problem and again secured the site per
the instructions.

Camp Bus Again!!

Again we have to deal with the camp bus that CC Code Enforcement told them they shouldn't bring into the neighborhood. Time to write that letter to the Board of Equalization to lower our taxes.

I watch this am when I went to the Dentist that this bus picked up kids north of the Albertson's parking lot.

Then this 7/7/2020 the truck left out of the area and later returned.  When Allen went to work
the truck then followed him out.    The games these folks play!!  The pickup has come and gone
twice so prior to the bus leaving at 7:20 am.   If you look at the sloop of the driveway and the street
you can imagine the scraping of the front and back of the bus as it comes and goes.   There is no sense
of this of this type of vehicle being brought into a neighborhood, let alone parked in this manner.  This is
a commercial sized bus.

Night number 2 of the bus in the hood.  The driver was home all afternoon and at 4 when I went out
to deadhead the garden she took off and went and got the bus.   After the encounter of the truck Allen
decided it was time to park in the street.  We moved the cameras so that they truck would be visible where
it is parked.  It appears we will be ordering more cameras.

This am around 7:30 the bus leaves scraping the back bumper.

7/8/WedI wrote an email to the Chief and got a phone call from Code Enforcement.  While
on the phone I see a white car pull up.  I explained the to the staffer I had to go and see
what this person wanted.  I went to the cameras and notice it was a Sheriff Deputy whom
walked up the driveway.   Then Sable spotted him, she went nuts!!  No mask!!   I told
him to go to the garage door.  I went out and was told this was a courtesy call due to the
email I wrote the Chief.  Excuse me, I didn't ask for a courtesy call, but he preceded to tell me
that there was nothing they could do as it was on private property and I told him that is what the
first deputy that came out told them to do, 'Skirt the Law.'   The deputy didn't want to hear it.
Yes, the truck parked with in inches of the bins, they know where we put our garbage, recycle
and yard debis bins.  We have had them try to dictate where our bins should be.  Mind you
they have been in the same place for 30 years.

Nite 4/Thurs and tonight the Daughter-in -law brought the bus here as the regular driver was
home most of the day. The truck was here but it left and the car returned.  The truck came in with the male
and he parked by the bins that I didn't bring up.  I was busy today cutting back 5 Clematis.
I will not bring the bins up while they are home.

Nite 5/Friday   NO Bus!!!  But the cars were parked all over the street. I watched the male come in with the
truck and he parked the car, to drive the truck up the driveway and then pull the car to where the truck was.
Petty!!

Nite 6/Sat. Morning only the truck was on the driveway, all the cars in the street.  It wasn't until they returned
in the truck did they move the car back to the driveway.    They come and go take one vehicle then return
to take the other, no gas money as the Deputy stated??

Sunday/ we are awaiting for the bus!!

It's been 2 weeks without the bus, but we aren't holding our breaths as we know it will
return.  I also spent a week emailing the Sheriff's Dept. and dealing with their BS.  Don't
ya just love how some folks think?  Thank you Clark County for the lessons you taught me
while being a Neighborhood President!!  I deal with facts and they assume.  Then they try
to tell me I'm offended by their actions and it just surprises me on what they try to pull.

How many of you have commercial size buses parked on your neighbor's property??

10/13/2021   This house is now for Sale!!!
