Sable got me up at 5 as she needed
to go out. I let her out and she didn't
come right back in. I grabbed my
shoes to go get her, to find one huge
limb had fallen and she wanted me
to come get it. It fell onto the
greenhouse so we will have to
wait until light to see what damage
it has done.
We go inside and I opened the
curtains to see if there was any
limbs down to the west. Nothing
and as I turned away I hear a crash!
Yet it set off Sable as one limb came
down and hit the fence. Photos to
come when we get light.
Sable and I got to see this one fall at 5:20AM.
More photos as more came down.
This is the classic car, the carport collapsed
and the limbs fell on top of it.
Here is what is up under the above photo.
The next photo is the limb on the roof of the
shed the other end on the classic car.
The above photo is the new Fringe tree
that was just getting started, totally trashed.
More limbs are just hanging!! You can
see limbs on the other side of the fence.
Plus we can see a couple limbs way up
in the trees that will drop on their side
of the fence. This one will drop on
our side. I can't hardly breath due
to the fir smells in the air!
These photos were taken 2/17/2021
after some of the snow has melted.
As you can see more to come down.
you can see how bad these trees are.
To the west these are 80 footers, to
the east are around 40 footers and
trimmed up on the east side and not
taken care of. Both set of trees were
planted to closed to each other and
let me quote a friend, "trees like
these should be planted in the forests
not a neighborhood lot nor should
they be planted on the property line."
start cleaning due to we were to have rain by
noon. I could only do what I could do and
by the time I stopped at 10:20AM I had over
did it. I hurt!! I have my back west cleaned
and a huge pile to the east of the greenhouse.
I think the photos will say a lot.
Before:
have to be cut to remove it so no more
damage to the classic.
Note the small fringe tree twig.
After:
I am just sick to see all her branches off
what was a beautiful little tree.
of the greenhouse to see what damage was done
by the limb that fell on it.
Above is one of the limbs that was dragged
to the greenhouse area, it goes to the other
But I'm glad to have this mess cleaned up so that
new grass can grow.
PVC pieces from our fence.
Yes, we have turned this all over to our
insurance company as it's more than
we can cover. Not a word from those
that these trees sit on their property.
Not our trees that keep damaging
out property nor have they offered to
pay for the damages or help clean up.

Spent an hour out trying to pick up
what I can and filled one wheel barrel
and several buckets of the small stuff.
Worked to drain the tarps that cover
the car. Then pulled the tarp on the
greenhouse and check for damage
inside.
2/20/2021
Clean up completed!! I spent 7 hours
out picking up, cutting and loading the
truck for the first load to go out to H&H
to the yard recyclers. Allen spent a total
of 9 hours also loading, sawing and tearing
down the carport, moving the classic to the
garage after finding it was saved by the
carport. But the carport pushed the east
PVC fence outward. We also noted that the
front gate was hard to open and shut.
The front section of the double gate
also needs to be readjusted and 5 boards
need to be replaced. The peak of the
shed was flattened and we found some
damage to the gutters. Cost of the first
load to H&H was $18.75.
2/21/2021
Today we spent 2 hours cleaning up again
and taking the last out to H&H recyclers.
We will have to rebuild the carport and so
glad we got the metal corners when we
built it. The PVC pipes and fittings are
what broke. We also lost the 1-20 X 19
and 2 - 20 X 30. Cost of the second load
to H&H was $11.25. None of this was
from our trees that did the damage.
I will have to vac up the fir
needles when it dries out some to finish
the clean up. These will be put in the
recycle bin for next pickup. Should
be between 1 to 1 1/2 hours to clean
the whole gravel area east of the shed
and greenhouse.
2/22/2021
I started at 9:15am to get the area
between the shed/greenhouse to
the east fence cleaned. I finished
at 10:55 am and three buckets and
one bag of fir stuff when in the
recycle bin. The area is now clean!!
I have my yard back! But the wind
is blowing I had to dodge the falling
branches this am.

Secondary adjuster is coming out to
check the damage due to covid. He
arrived on time and checked out the
damage to the shed. He will file a
report to the insurance company.

I truly want to thank our insurance company
for helping to pay for the damage, now to
order the tree, carport and get the fences repaired.
We are still picking up and watching limbs
that are coming down. We found some older
fence boards to put up until spring weather
permits replacement so Sable doesn't run
loose and I can paint later. Thank you for
giving us added time to get the repairs done
also. That was one heck of a storm!!
3/18/2021
Had the fence guy out and found out that the
company that make our fence no longer makes
the style so he is in hopes of finding something
that will match. There is also more damage
than we thought to the east fence. There will
need to be digging out of 4 to 5 pots in hopes
to set them straight and close the gaps that
are starting to form. He tried to close them
the best he could beside put the rail back in.
Should be an all day event of fixing our fence.
Then I'll be able to clean and and get that area
ready for the new carport.
