3/28/2021 - 6:05 PM - Here We Go Again!!
We are sitting here watching the news when
we hear a couple crashes out back. I had been
watching the trees from the front across the
circle sway as we listened to the wind.
Boom Boom Boom Boom
Yep more limbs just crashed onto the new
roof and deck. There is a 12 to 14 footer
laying between the fence and the circle
bed. The trees to the west are swaying
like crazy! More to come. You know
what I'll be doing tomorrow!!
The weather report states 21 mph winds!
3/29/2021
2 hours later I have my yard back!! What
a mess!! We had several limb that hit the
ground with force that they were 4 to 6 inches
into the ground.

Spring 2021
Last Saturday was the official day of spring but
we are still seeing chilly mornings. Last date of
frost is April 15 so we still have some time to
wait before moving everything out of the
greenhouses.
I mowed the lawn yesterday and the grass is
filling in nicely except in the back where I
would like to remove it and put in gravel.
But will toss out more grass seed.
We have put down the first fertilizer with
moss control and that has helped kill off
the moss. The next dry day I'll spray
what is still living.
The spring flowers are finding their way
upward to bloom! By may the iris will be
in bloom. We are seeing clematis starting
to grow. I lost a couple of the younger ones
due to the snow. Guess more clematis will
have to be added? I have been pulling weeds
as it's to early to use the round up. Today I
will be planting the Datura seeds collected
from last year. I decided this year not to cut
the roses back and may kick myself for it
but have also given them all their first dose
of fertilizer.
We are also talking about mulching the yard
if the hand can handle it. When you see bare
ground it's time. I also want to paint the house
this year and change the colors.
The gardens will open after May 1, this year
as we are still working on the damage of the
yard from Feb. snow and ice storm.

2021 Projects
This is the year of projects that didn't get
done in 2020. With the storm in February
we have now had to add more to the list.
We started off with the new roof after finding
the wind from the north had lifted up the
shingles and we just decided to bite the bullet
as the roof was only 18 years old. As many folks
that have seen the roof were shocked at the
fact that is was so clean and still had life.
But after the limbs came down we knew
it was just time.
We had a lot of damage so as you can see
from the other post. We really want to thank our
insurance company for covering the damage
and yes letters with to both the neighbors whos
trees did the damage. Our roof company was
so great and I can't thank they enough!! The
guys really did an awesome job!! Clean up
was also done daily and the inspection was
completed on 3/9/2021!! It passed!!
Before:
After:
Next project will be replacement of the
LeafGuard gutters due to we have had
several issues with them and had to go
to the Attorney General of OR as
they refused to take care of the issues.
We have had them looked at by several
contractors and they all agree the sooner
we get them off our home and get
gutters that are correctly put up the less
headache we will have down the road.
Don't put them up!!
We will be putting them on Craigslist.
We can't wait to get them removed.
When the weather warms up we then
will be painting the house, shed and
fence! Lots of projects to be done
this year!!
3/11/2021
New gutters were installed, again thank
you to our contractor for a beautiful job!!
We went with a heavy industrial style of
gutter which is easy to clean and we are
able to remove the debris.
A big thank you Interstate!! We highly
recommend this company! Very
professional, great workers, and
no damage to the yard!
#LeafGuard Removed:
These will be listed on Craiglist!!
This past week we have had several
folks contact us about them but
these are already precut and folks
just don't have the ability to move
them. We are giving them one more
week then we will be cutting them
up and recycling them.
Why are so many folks removing
their #LeafGuard gutters?
They don't work and a total waste.
3/25/2021
We can now say our property is
#LeafGuard gutter free!!
We had 6 folks inquire about the
gutters. The fifth guy came totally
prepared to get them and was going
to use them on his workshop. We sure
hope he gets them to work for him.
Those folks that did stop really admired
our new gutters. It is nice to have gutters
that work and don't leak!
3/26/2021
Today was the day I ordered the 20 cubic
yards of med fir mulch. Then went out
and purchased 6 gallons of paint! It will
be nice to have a change of color.
3/30/2021
Mulch was delivered.
I also decided to add black mulch to the mix, so I
will start off with 8 bags of it.
It is also time to edge the grass area.
Time to add the mulch!
4/6/2021
The last of the mulch was put in the yard today!!
Now taking the next few days off before starting
to paint the house.
4/10/2021
Spring cleaning/carpet cleaned was done today
and all I have left is 4 windows.
4/12/2021
Looks like a nice warm week to start the painting!
4/21/2021
Still painting!! : ) But not today, tree trimmers
next door.
4/27/2021
Still painting but hope to have it done by this
weekend.
4/29/2021
Today I finished the house! I can also say the
shed is 2/3 done with the south end going to take
at least 5 days. Plus I have the fence and deck to
paint.
5/20/2021
Today I finished the shed! But DH said I might
give the peaks another coat of black.
Here is the photos taken:
Time now to plant the garden and take care of
the plants.
I will tell you, we are so glad we removed
the LeafGuard gutters when we did, they
were doing damage to the house. I had to
scrape so much damage off before painting.
If you watch the commercials where they
show a lot of water coming down, that is
your LeafGuard gutters!! We had water
coming from behind the gutters and it's
how they were installed. They don't work
at all if the water comes down from behind
the gutters and debris goes into the gutters.
So they will have to come out to clean them.
I will tell you going to the industrial size
gutters was the best thing we did. Easy to
clean!! They sure are doing a great job!!
Wonder what the next project will be?
GardenBuddies Closes
The cyber garden site where I hung out
and shared alot of our garden photos has
closed their forums. It is a sad garden
day as I made several gardening friends
there and I will miss them from all over
the world.
Thank you EJ!!

Surgery
As some of you know I took a
bad fall in the fall of 2019 and
then covid hit. I knew I did
damage to the hand and back
but no way did it stop that
year of gardening. So at my
recent physical the hand was
really swollen so back to the
sport doctor to have it looked
at again. More xrays and steriod
shots, plus different meds. Physical
therapy was ordered and that has
really helped. I have to do thing
in moderation, not to keep going
until things are done. A lesson that
will be hard for me to learn.
Swelling in the hand was still an
issue and the steriod shot helped
very little. So it was time to see
a orthopedic specialist. The first
of two surgeries was done on the
24th, with the second to be done
in the fall. So I'm left handed for
a while.
Then I became allergic to what they used
to clean the hand, what fun!! Should be
a 6 week recovery if I don't use it. It is so
nice to have the shooting pain up the right
arm stopped.
Now I have to be careful of the back and
not over use the hands.
5th day out and I can remove the bandage
and clean off the orange stuff they used
to clean the hand and arm. Thanks goodness
for Benadryl!! Feeling much better and
less pain up the arm. Lots of bruising
and swelling but that will go away.
3/1/2021
Still bruising but the swelling is
down some.
3/10/2021
Two weeks out and soon the stitches
will be removed! Bruising is almost
gone and I'm still dealing with the
thumb issue.
3/12/2021
The stitches have been remove with some
issues so I'm still 2 weeks no use until it
re-heals. Bruising is fading and less pain
in the wrist. Still having to wear the brace
and the thumb is still painful, surgery when
the pain becomes unbearable. Need to
repaint the house first.
3/22/2021
Healing nicely and starting to use a little
more. Still tender to the touch and the
thumb is still painful. Just glad the shooting
pain up the arm is gone and the swelling is
mostly gone so I can use the fingers.
Our Home Is NOT For Sale!!
I don't know about you but I'm so
sick of the postal cards and letters
from Real Estate folks wanting to
buy our home due to they have a
client that wants the house.
STOP: NOT FOR SALE!!
We used to have them stop by
and have found out that one neighbor
was sending them! But ya know we
have never gotten a real offer, no money
has ever been offered. Don't waste
our time!! If there isn't a sign out
front then it's not for sale.
Let us save you time and effort.
Our asking price is well over $500,000
as the County has stated our lot
can hold 3 houses!
Again yesterday (3/25/2021) we
received a card asking to buy our home!
Love the photo that was taken some 8 to 10
years ago and it was taken a block away.
It was shredded right away after reading it.
NO amount, old photo and no I'm not calling
the number. Why?? To me it's a scam and
worthless!! Some lazy ass real estate person
that doesn't get it?? If there isn't a sign at
the curb, again it's not for sale!!
Well our house price just went up to $750,000
You can thank Jessica for that. Again we
get this postal card, please call or text me!!
Sorry it not going to happen!! No business
name or even an offer. What a waste of time!
