Variegation

I have a few variegated Hydrangeas 

that I just love!  Today while pulling

thistle and cutting Hollyhocks back,

I spotted a couple sports on the oldest

variegated Hydrangea.  

Here is that the variegation looks like:

But here is a couple sports.

I love to see sports show up!

 Finally cooled down so I could get

outside to work.

This evening by the front door.

There is usually 3 blooms per stalk.

The above plant is now going to seed and I have

another pot that is getting ready to open.

I moved the plants closer to the house due

to our high temps.  Here is today's bloom:

The collection!  Each gallon pot has at 

least 3 bulbs in them.  Moving them into

the protective area due to extreme heat 

warnings.

High Temps.

  Here comes a week of heat, so they

say.   Remember to water and keep 

it green!    

Summer Cut Back

 

It's time to do the summer cut back.

If you want fall blooms. Remember

you need to fertilize after you cut back.

Keep them watered during the higher

temps.

two weeks ago is now regrowing.
