Time To Load The Greenhouses
With the fall crocuses up it's time
to start getting the plants ready for
their winter home.
First I needed to remove the Voo Doo
plants so I could clean out the Greenhouse
so other plants could go in.
Stripping the leaves off is the first
task.
Cutting the Brugmansias down so they
will fit in into the greenhouse.
The 3 B. Shorty's variegated were the first
to get cut.
After the huge B. Shorty's is pulled
from the big cement pot, it was time
for Bones to take his place.
The next few days will be stripping
the A. Red Dragon then cutting
them down so they will fit the
greenhouse.
Got to love this plant &
it's blooms!
I got an email this am, why do
you strip and cut back so drastically?
It's about the space we have in the
greenhouses we keep. If you look
at the leaves you will notice the
difference in the leaves. Outside
are much thicker compared to inside
which is much thinner. Leaves will
grow back, trust me!
Working hard on getting plants
ready to go inside.
Still working on this tall
one as the wind kicked up
and it wasn't fun holding
onto the ladder too.
Please do not copy us if you
don't understand the process
or you can damage your plant.
Look at the reason you are
seeing damage from your
neglect.
More later.

9/7/2025 Before
8:00 am / All cleaned and ready to
fill due to the smoke coming from a
local firepit. Yes, there is a burn ban
since July, but who cares.
By 6:00 pm The Brug House was filling up
fast. Now you know why I'm so busy!
Sorry if you were looking for blooms this year
but I have to protect the collection!
Just 36 more to go!

Time To Start Fall Cleaning!
This weekend was time to clean
both greenhouses and start getting
them both ready for plants. Stop
fertilizing plants! If you were
thinking of putting in a new lawn
ya best do it this week. Same for
putting more grass seed out.
The leaves are already falling and
if you have trees you are responsible
for their cleanup and that goes for the
street in front of your home. We don't
live in Portland where they request
their residents to dump them in the
streets so they can be picked up.
If you use the Recycle for your leaves
they don't want pine needles for the
past few years.
10/4/2025
Yesterday was cleanup day for the yard.
In which I took 1 bag of vac leaves
off the front yard.
Then went to do the north back yard
where all the maple leaves were down
and took 1 1/2 bags off. I have been
picking up leaves daily after sweeping
our deck off daily for the past month.
Not only leaves but seedpods and
evergreen trigs that have been
dropping for the past year as the
tree isn't getting proper care and
browning. We have seen two of
these tree drop onto their house in
the past years. These are the roots
that come close to our house. Besides
the maple roots that lace the north
side of our gardens. It's to the point
we are loosing the plants in some
of our beds as the roots search for
water.
Fall leaves are just getting started.
We want to thank one of our neighbors
whom took out a tree this past week.
Why do we vac up our yard? Is a
question we get often. Well it's simple
less bugs and critters is you keep your
yard clean. We don't allow our leaves
to fly all over the neighborhood for
others to pickup!
Many of you know I used to blow out
the circle but do not do so anymore.
Just the roadway in front of our property
is all that is done.
The last time the street sweeper came
though, there was such a huge cloud
of dirt blowing across the circle. I
really felt sorry for the driver. They
know I'm not cleaning up anymore.
We kept the video of the cleaner and
all the dirt that went flying!
