What A Nice Man

While at Home Depo yesterday a
man asked if he could help me
load what I had purchased.  He
saw it was a load and I had my
hands full with Onyx.

It was so nice of him to offer and I
told him "no, I have it."  I said a
prayer as he walked away.  There
are people out there that offer
to help.

What A Wind Storm!

The yard is a total mess!  With
plant needing to be set back up
right several times today.

I have to bring in the last Brug
as it lost a bloom and cut the
last of the A. Red Dragon down.

While in the garage and finding the leaves
had turned upward it was time to trim them
off.

I noticed that there is another flush coming on
after these blooms.

So much for the clean street as the leaves
from the east that have come down are not
on our end of the circle.

9/17/2025

What a morning!  4 bags taken off the
yard and another off the road in front
of our property, that is all I'm doing!

When I was finishing a lady pulled up
and said I had a nice garden!  I was
tired as I just spent 4 hours cleaning up
the yard, I was putting stuff  away and
had a headache with a bloody nose
again.

Again Please make an appt if you
want to see my yard.  But remember
this is a private garden and if we
had a storm the next day I'll be out
cleaning up the storm damage.

It was nice to stand in my shower
as the dirt ran off me!  Nice day
for a spa treatment.

Please make an appointment!

Newest Cross Perennial Hibiscus

Pure white with just a hint of pink.

We did a cross prior to this which end
in a pure white Perennial Hibiscus.

We have had her for 5 years now and shared
with a friend back east.   We are currently
seeing on offered and they are calling theirs
PH Marshmallow.

The same time we did this cross we also
did another which we call Our Pink.
It is huge and this year was loaded
with blooms.

Sometimes we are seeing more white
in some of the blooms.

9/14/2025

As of today I can proudly state I
have put away 90% of the plants
that need protection.  Now I can
take cutting for next spring.

The yard is minus the Tropicals
but there is still plenty to see.
Our Clematises that were cut
back in July are in full bloom!
These will be put away Oct. 1
in there protective hoop house.

Yes that is the third house we
have here as the winter months
they could use some protection
instead of leaving them out all
winter.

Enjoy your day!!

9/21/2025

I can now state I'm 98% done!
Just have to start cuttings in the
next couple days.

Glorious Rain

Finally rain that we badly need
and I am enjoying the birds out
in the rain gathering food.

Not enough to get us out of the
drought!  Remember July was
the start of the burn ban here!

Time To Load The Greenhouses

With the fall crocuses up it's time
to start getting the plants ready for
their winter home.

First I needed to remove the Voo Doo
plants so I could clean out the Greenhouse
so other plants could go in.

Stripping the leaves off is the first
task.

Cutting the Brugmansias down so they
will fit in into the greenhouse.

The 3 B. Shorty's variegated were the first
to get cut.

After the huge B. Shorty's is pulled
from the big cement pot, it was time
for Bones to take his place.

The next few days will be stripping
the A. Red Dragon then cutting
them down so they will fit the
greenhouse.

Got to love this plant &
it's blooms!

I got an email this am, why do
you strip and cut back so drastically?

It's about the space we have in the
greenhouses we keep.  If you look
at the leaves you will notice the
difference in the leaves.  Outside
are much thicker compared to inside
which is much thinner.  Leaves will
grow back, trust me!

Working hard on getting plants
ready to go inside.

Still working on this tall
one as the wind kicked up
and it wasn't fun holding
onto the ladder too.

Please do not copy us if you
don't understand the process
or you can damage your plant.
Look at the reason you are
seeing damage from your
neglect.

More later.
