2026 -- Working On The Brugmansia House

 

Our son and I worked on fixing the roof area

on the Brugmansia house before putting up

new plastic today!  I just have the north wall

plants to move and hopefully move the table

to the east wall.

I was able to get the over flow hoop house

set up and covered with a shade cloth.

2026 Lost Brugmansia from 2021

 

I took several tip cuttings and lost the 

mother plant due to a virus.  To my 

surprise the one I thought was my 

double white turned out to be my

lost Brug.  Louka X  OS Flamme 

from seeds from L. Salonova

The cuttings were all labeled until

the squirrel found it's way into the 

greenhouse.  

I am so happy this one survived.

There is an earlier post on this

Brugmansia when I got her in 2021.

This Brugmansia I took 6 tip cuttings

and it take a few years to get them 

this size.  When I talks about tip cutting it's 

around 1 inch in size.  Some say it's

the best way to do these plants.

2026 Morning Fog!

 Already!  I have been watching the leaves

are starting to drop and change colors.  It's 

time to start working on the greenhouses

and getting them ready to be filled.

This time is year is when I disappear so 

that everything can be put away safely.

The yard will disappear shortly.   I am

just great full for another great year of

all the bloomers we have been blessed

with.

I hear we are going to have a hard winter

so it's important to start early.  The Sedum

is already turning the red color, so fall is 

here!

2026 Morning Sunshine!

 

Plus we are getting drizzle/rain!

2026 What a Great Weekend!

 I got to share my garden with several 

folks that stopped by!  Pretty soon it 

will be all gone for the year.  I'm in 

the process of cutting back a lot of

plants and cleaning out the greenhouses

So I can redo and start the process of

filling them up for the winter months.

We will be closing for the season on 

Sept. 15, as those that visited can tell

you the trees around us are causing 

issues with our yard.  Plus I plan to

kill off our grass and put out a new

lawn.

2026 - Smoke!

 Another day of burning and the yard

was full of smoke. No it wasn't wild

fire smoke the wind was from the NW.

I have spent the past few days removing

all but the top leaves on the Brugmansia

and let me tell you they sure didn't smell

good at all.  My hands and nippers were

totally black!

The Iochroma's leaves are yellowing and 

dropping.

North burning and no one was

out with the pit.  We had to put

up a new cap on our fence post

All weekend long there has been smoke

in the air.

Yea, I know it's a jungle out there!   But 

soon it will all be gone!

Time to take the first clump of nanas out and 

move some plants down to their area.
