Here They Come!!

It's time for the Perennial Hibiscus to Bloom!!

Luna Variety from the early 2000, this one

is H. Luna white with red center.

This Luna Red has huge blooms and different

shades of red.

The above plant is a deeper red.

Felida Fireworks!!

 Again today someone fired off fireworks!

This is now the third time since the 4th of 

July!   Time to ban them!!!

Back to the 80s!!

 What a pain dealing with the high temps.

There is some browning in the yard but at

this point the plants are doing pretty good.

We are not out of the woods yet, more high

temps are predicted for next week.   I have

been making sure every thing is watered 

deeply and shooting water in the air to 

cool the plants off.  Watering every 4 days

and it sure has helped keeping the house

cooler also.

Love this time of year when the Perennial 

Hibiscus start to bloom!!

The clematis are starting to bloom again 

after being cut back the first week of 

July!!

Even have a new bud growing on the 

Delphinium!! 

Plus we added lights out back!

Round 4--Heat Wave!!

They are now saying another heat

wave is coming starting next week!

Not moving the brugs again until it's

time to put them away for the winter

months!!   It appears that I will be 

cutting many of them back this fall

as the heat and late freeze has damaged

many of them.  

Maybe it's time to give them up and 

allow the clematis to take their place.

Today we were to hit 98 but thank goodness

for the clouds!  Temps in the 80 but, humidity

was off the charts!!  Smog also was a problem.

Love working early in the morning when it's

cooler!!   Hoping for some rain soon!!

Returning

I returned the Brugmanisa to the front

yard after being stripped of a lot of leaves.

They were just a mess being on the north

side of the house.  Smoke and Brugmansia

are not a good thing!   I wish I could plant

them in their original garden spot but to

much second hand smoke!!   The ones

left on the driveway are doing much better

than the ones on the north side of the house.

All I can say is if smoke damages plants, 

what is it doing to the human body? 

A Little Relief!!

 Cloudy and 63 degrees this am with

a few sprinkles!!    But again they say

90s first of next week.  Whom ever is

hogging the real rain, please return it

to the PNW, we need it badly!!  We need

to wash the smokey air out of here.

Round 3 Heat Wave!

Again we are to have yet another heatwave!

It has been so nice and cool these past couple

days.  Are you ready or have you given up

on the yard?  

We here are cutting back those plants that 

have completed their bloom cycle and 

instead of watching them fry, they are

being cut back.
