2025 Set Goal

This year we set a goal of Oct. 1
to get all the plants put away.  It's
usually Oct. 15 but this year we
up it to the first.

I can say we are a little behind!
As of today I have 2 Clematis,
1 Perennial Hibiscus and 70%
of the roses to strip.

With the Yard Debris Bins
full!

Fall fertilizer was put down
last week so we can just coast.
Lots of dry dead spots in the
lawn as the heat was terrible
this year.

As of this evening I only have
one clematis that is in the ground
to cut back before starting on the
roses.  Everything is put away,
now to rearrange some things so
I will be able to get into the back
areas.

Some of the Brugmansia are starting
to bloom again!  Photos on another
post!

The last Clematis is now gone and
in the yard recycle bin.   Rain delay!

This afternoon I started to strip the
leaves off the roses.  I knew the white
flies would be bad by now.  Just taking
their food away from them instead of
spraying chemicals.

It's official I have the yard 99% cut back
in the front, now to work on the back.

The Growing Season Ends

 Our Gardens are open May
1st to Oct. 1st by appointment
only!  So as we close the season
down, we hope you have enjoyed
what we do here.

This season has been the hardest
season to keep the garden going.
The higher temps than normal,
critters/insects, and all the dandelions
and thistle.

That Time Of Year!

 When you bring in pots
with a hitchhiker in the pot!

While bring in the front
door flowering maples I
sat them down after bring
them in.  To my surprise
Onyx cornered a frog by
the front door.  She knew
it didn't belong in her
domain!

I had to get it out of the
house fast and give it a
good home in the greenhouse.
The minute it was placed in
a pot it just took off!  The
door is wide open for now
out there so we will watch
the front area to see if it
returns.

The same frog was found
over a week ago in some
hanging pots and had to
be removed when they
were cut back and put away.

The Yard Is Disappearing

Today I started cutting back plants to
get ready for the junk we deal with in
the fall from neighboring trees.

Sorry you missed it!  There is next
year.

9/21/2025

Today was my day to take cuttings and cut
the Flowering Maples back before putting
them in the greenhouse.

9/22/2025

Today it was getting some of the
Perennial Hibiscus cutting taken
before they are cut back.  I had
already taken most of the PH Luna
white with red center ones down.

9/23/2025

It is also time to put down the
fall grass fertilizer and do the
last of the weeding.

What A Nice Man

While at Home Depo yesterday a
man asked if he could help me
load what I had purchased.  He
saw it was a load and I had my
hands full with Onyx.

It was so nice of him to offer and I
told him "no, I have it."  I said a
prayer as he walked away.  There
are people out there that offer
to help.
