Surgery

As some of you know I took a
bad fall in the fall of 2019 and
then covid hit.  I knew I did
damage to the hand and back
but no way did it stop that
year of gardening.   So at my
recent physical the hand was
really swollen so back to the
sport doctor to have it looked
at again.  More xrays and steriod
shots, plus different meds.  Physical
therapy was ordered and that has
really helped.  I have to do thing
in moderation, not to keep going
until things are done.  A lesson that
will be hard for me to learn.

Swelling in the hand was still an
issue and the steriod shot helped
very little.  So it was time to see
a orthopedic specialist.  The first
of two surgeries was done on the
24th, with the second to be done
in the fall.  So I'm left handed for
a while.

Then I became allergic to what they used
to clean the hand, what fun!!  Should be
a 6 week recovery if I don't use it.  It is so
nice to have the shooting pain up the right
arm stopped.

Now I have to be careful of the back and
not over use the hands.

5th day out and I can remove the bandage
and clean off the orange stuff they used
to clean the hand and arm.  Thanks goodness
for Benadryl!!  Feeling much better and
less pain up the arm.  Lots of bruising
and swelling but that will go away.

Still bruising but the swelling is
down some.

Two weeks out and soon the stitches
will be removed!   Bruising is almost
gone and I'm still dealing with the
thumb issue.

The stitches have been remove with some
issues so I'm still 2 weeks no use until it
re-heals.  Bruising is fading and less pain
in the wrist.  Still having to wear the brace
and the thumb is still painful, surgery when
the pain becomes unbearable.   Need to
repaint the house first.

Healing nicely and starting to use a little
more.  Still tender to the touch and the
thumb is still painful.  Just glad the shooting
pain up the arm is gone and the swelling is
mostly gone so I can use the fingers.
