There Are Some Days You Just Have To Work Harder!!

What a month May has been!!
First, we are dealing with the
insurance company, Bless Them!!

February Damages were unbelievable!!

Clean up was just to much for me to
handle!  Let's just say pure crazy!!

We find out they no longer make our
PVC fencing material.  So let's just
wing it.  Then we loose the great
company that did our fence.  Looking
for another!!  We know that it will
not look as pretty but we want our
privacy!  We also know with the
way the trees are trimmed up more
damage will happen down the road.
Let's just say the trees are just 3/4
of what was there and need to be
removed!!   Over a year ago there
was a report that the evergreens are
dying!  Slow death as they destroy
properties around them.  No care!!

Then when we removed the tarp on
the greenhouse we find that the huge
limb that took out the front fence did
some damage.  The door rail and the
back frame took a huge blow.   I love
my greenhouse and it took years to find
one that we could afford and sturdy
enough to with stand the wind, snow
and tree limbs.  But whom cares??
We have had her since 2014 I believe
and she is still like new.  Some models
once the new ones come out the companies
don't honor their warranties.  I can't
afford to loose my stock in plants.

I have been looking at Greenhouses
again, they are so pricey now it's not
going to be easy to find one.  Most
will not take the wind or limbs!

I will add here that the company that
we got this from Sears don't carry
the greenhouse we have.   I went to
their website and they too have gone.
Just make a person want to cry at
this point!  So do we just leave it?

We work hard for what we have and
we do care for what we get!   We drive
older vehicles that still look great!
Don't have to have brand new like
some folks.  Our old house fits us
just perfect and she just got a nice
new look to match the gardens
we keep.    All we can do is
just shake our heads at the
disrespect some have for others.

We have narrowed it down to three
greenhouses, currently all three are out
of stock.  So hopefully next spring.

Just saying it's okay, just have to
work harder!

Clematis

I have been asked about doing Clematis and
for the last couple weeks I have been working
with a couple Clematis that I have picked up.

I won't say where I got them but they were in
2" pots and not something I would purchased
but knew it would be a long while to see them
take off.   After looking them both over I knew
that I wanted to test one in full sun and picked
the best one to try.   Shortly after putting it out
it fried.  But the root system was strong.

This has been out in the yard for two
weeks and it's just one stem and looking
not to good.....Hence do not just stick
them out into the world at this size.

The other was already looking bad so I cleaned
it up the best I knew and stuck it in the greenhouse.

This is just 2 weeks worth of growth.  It's
really looking nice.

I decided while they both were to small
it was best to keep them in the greenhouse
and give them special care.

When I purchase these two I also got
one in a one gallon.   It was a nice looking
one about 2 foot tall.  Since I noticed that
this one wasn't root bound it still needed
some special care.  I left it in the same pot
only sinking it into a 4 gallon pot with a
larger trellis.

I also picked up 2 - 4 inch potted ones
that were root bound and you could tell
they were ready for their gallon pot.

When the roots come out of the
bottom then we will then bump them
up into 2 to 3 gallon pots.

We slowly bump them up.  We have
learned from our growing brugs, these
need to be root bound before they
take off.  We don't put anything less
then five years old into the ground.

A fellow clematis grower recommended
to sink the whole plant in water then
put it in the fridge for a day or so before
planting.  Interesting!!   Will have to
try this is I get anymore small plants.

It's not about how many plants, it's how
well you can grow them!

6/8/2021

The very first Clematis that is on this post
was taken out of the greenhouse a couple
weeks ago and put in a larger pot.   I left
the clematis in it's original pot only sunk
it in a larger pot for the outside.  To my
surprise today it bloomed and there are
four other buds.

I use deer netting for support.

Harassment Continues!!

This afternoon while out cleaning
up the mess due to high winds our
neighbor to the east comes home
on his motorcycle and just guns it
to let the whole neighborhood know
he is home!    He does this when
he sees me outside.   This has been
going on for years.  I just hope some
day he will grow up!!    The friends
that I know that ride all state he is lacking
in one dept. that if he treats his bike like
that he shouldn't be riding.

Pure and simple harassment!!

I truly thank the other motorcyclist that
live in the neighborhood for how respectful
they are of all residents.

Well after posting this the motorcycle stop
being driven to work.   But this am it left
and can't wait for it to return!  Well I was
right, he had to gun it!!

6/22/2021

Well the old lady wasn't home so guess who
got the motorcycle salute??   Yep he had to
gun it!!

6/30/2021

Again but I was out back and
it wasn't so loud.

7/13/2021

Again!!  Inside with the garage
door closed and I could hear
this one!

7/14/2021

Same as above but this time he
really gunned it.   He comes in
quite but the minute he hit the
circle it's loud.  The guy that has
a motorcycle a couple houses away
sure doesn't to this!

Thank You Google!!

For the quick fix!!   Back up and running after that
RED screen.

Close Gardens 5/15/2021

I. Starship Enterprise

Was up early this am and back out to
cleanup at 7:15am after putting out the
garbage and getting the cleaned yard
bins out for them to be picked up.

I have been waiting for this special
iris to open.  You be the judge, was it
worth the early morning hours to see
it open?

Within a few minutes she showed me
her true colors.

This was a gift to our son and we are just
plant sitting until he gets a house.

5/16/2021

We got a treat this am while out working
in the yard.

The last couple blooms.

5/12/2021 Evening

We decided to go get take out as we saw that
the neighbor to the east had the clan out.   We
ignore them and just laughed due to we knew
that it would be come sort of harassment before
they cleared out......typical of them!

They didn't let us down!  We are at the end of
the circle and it just doesn't fail they have to
drive by before they leave.  I sure hope they
enjoyed the gardens!   They are breath taking!!

Video Camera Don't Lie!!

My husband and I spent our day (5/8/2021)
picking up the neighbor's to the north
Maple seeds.  We picked up 4 - 5 gallon
buckets that had flown all over our yard.

Some of you know the issues we had last
fall with the leaves covering our gardens.
At that time we had a Sheriff Deputy come
to our door about how the leaves were
being returned to the neighbor.  The neighbor
offered to come pick them up, which no
way is that going to happen.  I see how
he keeps his yard.  His other option was
we were to bag them and return.  Well
that is what we did and this evening
while I was working on the photos taken
today some guy walks up to our door,
camera in hand and recording.  I went
over and shut the door as he set off Sable.
I told Allen who it was and what I did.
He was shocked!   He decided we should
call 911and went to the door to tell him.
Our property is posted NO Trespassing.
We did call 911.   We had a deputy call us
back and after that conversation we decided
to run the video cameras back and put them
on our cell phones.

Wow, did we learn alot!!
Why would this neighbor go to the neighbor
to the east of us first before coming to our door??

That neighbor knows not to come to our door
or to our property.  It's because of this neighbor
issues is why our property got posted in the first
place.

As I told the deputy, we did what he requested
and they were returned.  I told him I have a
business license and my gardens are my
business so it's important that they stay
cleaned up so that folks can tour our gardens.

If my neighbor doesn't want this returned,
how do you think we feel having the junk
drop in our beautiful gardens or to pay
for it's disposal?
Why should we have to pay for this when
it's not ours.......None of our trees drop
stuff into their yards.   But their trees
damage our yard!

Just take a good look at the Febr. storm
damage.  It is an ongoing problem with
their disease, damaged and neglected
trees that are planted on the property line.

5/10/2021

Again my husband and I spent our day
cleaning up our yard.  I clocked in 7 1/2
hours and DH clocked 4, we picked
up 5 1/2 --5 gallon pickle buckets of
the neighbor to the north's Maple Trees.
We have now got a 32 gallon bag 3/4 full!

While on the ladder I was able to see their
yard and let me tell you it's a pit!!  But yet
he screams about me returning the bagged
seeds.

What got me is he came to the door with
his cell phone in hand video taping the
encounter, no mention that he was recording.
Now isn't that against the law??

5/11/2021

I spent half my day picking up 3/4 - 5 gallon
pickle bucket of Maple seeds.....also vaced
up the gravel areas and that was a half bucket
of fir needles on half of the east property line.

5/12/2021

Again today I'll be picking up Maple seeds.
