 Karma's Kolumbine Season has started:

As they start to open more will be added.

Several Folks Have Asked...........

if I have plants available. 

I usually post on the Portland's 

Craigslist when I have plants for

sale.

This year I'm unable to dig up the 

wisteria I had planned on selling

but if you want to dig, let me know

and you can have first pick.  They are

just now leafing out.

Due to the Postal Rate hikes I will not

be shipping this year!

  

Opening The Gardens 2024

 April 15th is our normal time to 

open our gardens but this year we

are still trying to get the yard in 

shape for visitors.   It will be by

appointment only this year!

We have been watching folks walk

past and as you can see we have been

working hard to get it into shape.

This past weekend the first of the 

Brugmansia were pulled from the

Brug House where they winter.  I

will be replacing some of the buckets

this year and it takes time to do so. I

will also be cutting some of them back.

The yard is starting to come alive!

April Cleanup 2024

 4/6/2024

I took 1/2 bag off Sable's area and

to the west of the Shed, pine needles!

4/09/2024-4/15/2024

The Maple seeds are starting to fall.  Each

day I'm picking up 1/4 of a bucket.  Not only

that but the pine seeds are also dropping, 

which means they need to be picked up 

and the circle blown out.  Weekly to keep

them out of our yard.

4/19/2024

I took 1/2 bag off Sables area of pine

needles.  As I finished the wind kicked

up to 45 mph and the plastic came off the 

greenhouse.  So I guess I'll be cleaning

the pollen off the greenhouse on Sat.

4/20/2024

Again today after the wind storm of yesterday

I pickup a 1/2 bag of pine debris that blew 

into our yard.  What a mess.  Then I got the plastic

back up after washing down the greenhouse, it was

green!

4/22/2024

We took a full bucket off the gutters of the house

and shed.  The east gutters on the shed were totally

full!   The roof on the shed on the east side was 

green!!

Here Comes The Irises!!

These two are the first of the Mini irises.

 

Dutch Irises:

Bearded Iris:

Yes it's to early for them but today I

found the first one to open.  I also 

noticed several other buds.  May 

around Mother's Day is usually the

best time for Irises.

More Irises blooms to come!

Grass Is Greener Here!!

 

This is the north lawn area which for 

the past couple years I have let go!  

This area is always full of junk that 

comes from the north or east trees.  

In Jan. my husband as if I was going

to do something about how bare this 

area was becoming.  My come back 

was I'm killing the grass to put in 

more flower beds!  I just won't

deal with the mess!!  That is his 

grass area!

So in February I opted for some 

fertilizer/Moss control and a bag of 

grass seed was put down.

I will tell you I usually do the grass 

seed in the fall with the fall fertilizer.   

In just a few months this is how nice 

his grass lawn is now!!  The photo

was taken after I mowed today.  Yes, 

when you fertilize you will have to 

mow more!  Next when the temps 

get around 70 degrees, it's time to use

Weed and Feed spray to keep the weeds 

under control!  When the mower was 

serviced today, we also opted to raise 

the mower deck to the highest setting 

for the summer months.  You don't

want to scalp your lawn!   I can't wait 

to see all the brown grass!

Blog Numbers Keep Going Up!!

 The spammers keep coming and my

numbers just keep going up!    

Sorry for all the post disappearing

for a few weeks.  This was to prove

that the spammers were here!  I watch

the countries login in and can tell you

they are not here for the garden information

we share.  183 from just spammers and nothing 

to read.

This is why I started posting all of those

attempts to get into my computer and the

countries that come here.

I just laugh, one spammer was so bold

to put in his email address, "I want to get 

rich!"  Sorry, no money here to get rich off!

All spam is turned in and I won't stop!

With returning all the posts after running

the experiment on the spam count.  Sorry

to all that wanted to see the garden photos

but I had to prove that the spammers are

making the counts go up.  You can read

about what I deal with on a daily bases 

in the Warning post.   All I'll say is one

needs to start checking their accounts daily.

noted and reported for the month. 

It just amazes me that the spammers

just keep coming when there is nothing

to read!   

March Cleanup!

After couple weeks of rain I was

able to get out and cleanup the mess!

I took a full bag off Sable's area!

Before I could mulch the west 

side of the shed I had to rake 

up all the needles, pine cones,

little branches and all the junk.

I took a full bucket off the beds

on the north side of the house.

I removed off Sable's area half 

a bag of pine needles.

Maybe It's Time To Post All The IP and Window Addresses??

 Don't think it's fair to deal with this crap,

so maybe it's time to list all the addresses??

 This am our Blog reached the mark

of 70,000 Views!   I should really thank

the spammers for the this as there is 

nothing to look at!  Not laughing at this

at all, just so sad folks keep attempting

to spam and login on my computer.

Time To Mulch!!

 2024 is our year to do mulch for

for the yard.  So on Monday we 

went and ordered 20 cubic yards

for the yard.

I need to edge the grass area! 

Before:

I was asked about what I use to edge

the lawn, my Martha Stewart's half moon

edger and them to break up the clumps

I use the rake, smash them and then

rake the soil up into the beds.

The delivery was 20 cubic yards, one

truck load so far.

3/16/2024 2 pm  After:

We finished the front yard except the circle

bed in the middle of the yard, it will be a 

different color.

Sunday we start the back yard.

Monday was my day to finish the above

area and do the north side of the house.
