It's time to start keeping track of
cleanup for this year.
4/23/2023
DH spent 3 hours removing the
limbs that fell from the east trees
between the carport and the east
fence. He filled the largest yard
debris bin. Yep that much is
coming down.

I spent 45 minutes cleaning up
Sable's gravel area, the west side
of the shed the north side of the
house and the pathway to
the greenhouses. I took 3 bags
of stuff off this area.

As many of you know it's Maple
seeds time! I have had to mow
almost every day for the past week
and can pickup a lot that way but
the flower beds are full of seeds.
So far I have been 5 days of mowing
to pickup them in the yard.
I have vaced up the north beds and
removed 15 bags of them and the
needles from the winds and east
gravel area. Today will be another
day of fun!! I took another 2 full
bags of just maple seeds off the
yard.

Yesterday we had a windy day
so guess who gets to clean up
the yard!
After taking 1/2 bags in the mower,
I removed 6 1/2 bags of Maple seeds
off the yard. Then later in the afternoon
I had to take a 1/2 bucket of seeds off
when the wind kicked up. I'm sure
with this wind I'll be back out in the
morning!

I picked up the yard 3 times for a
total of 2/3 of a bucket. Tomorrow
it will be time to either mow or
vac up the yard as the wind it blowing
again!!

A full bag of mulched Maple seeds were
picked up this morning to get my yard
clean in one hour! Now for my other
projects! I have now picked up the
north yard 3 times and the last two times
I have picked up 1/2 bucket of Maple
seeds. Went out to vac up the Maple
seeds at 3:45pm as the wind kicked up
again, another bag worth. That is a
total of 2 bags and 1/2 bucket. I know
what I'll be doing in the morning! I
had a friend ask why am I doing so
much clean up?? ANTS
I clean up so I don't have to deal with
insects. If you don't you invite all sorts
of issues.

Today was a good day to mow up the Maple
seeds as they were all over. The bag was 99%
Maple seeds!! Then I vac up 2 bags of Maple
seeds out of the flower beds. I then cleaned up
Sable's area where I took 2 bags off that area.
Cleaned where the truck parks and that was another
bag of needles! Later in the afternoon I went out
and took 1/3 buckets of Maple seeds off the grass
area. No wonder I'm tired!!

Had Sable to the groomer this am and while she
was there I picked up 1/3 of a bucket of Maple
seeds before I had to stop. After picking her up
I was able to get the rest vac up! 1/2 bags of
mulched seeds!!

Mowed up the seeds in the grass. Will have to
vac up the bed again. This afternoon I vac up
2/3 bag of Maple Seeds!

I vacuumed a full bag of Maple Seeds.
While DH took a full bucket off the
shed. He finished the roof and gutters
on the house this evening and removed
another full bucket!!
Here is our yard debris bin which is now 3/4th
full and we will have another week before it's
emptied!
Now you know why we aren't allowing drop
by visitors!!

I took one bag off Sable's gravel area and one
bag off the north beds. I also mowed and there
was more Maple seeds than grass!

I got to do the north fence line today and
removed I huge full bag from where I
stopped on the 31 all the way to the west
fence. Maple seeds galore!! Then since
the wind has been blowing I redid Sable's
area and the gravel parking spot. I took
half a bag off those two spots.

This morning I picked up a half bucket
of Maple Seeds, bark, needles, evergreen
sprigs, leaves and just shock my head at
all that came down from the trees to the
north.
It just reminded me of the way the last
trees came down!

Since we had high winds yesterday it
was a morning of clean up! Watering
as things were bone dry.
I took 3/4 bags off Sable's area and 3
bags off the north garden beds! 2/3
mower bag of Maple leaves, branches,
Maple seeds, bark and other pine
material that has dropped out
of the north trees. This evening I picked
up 1/3 bucket of leaves.
The wind hasn't die down so I'll
probably be back out tomorrow
picking up again.

I am amazed at all the pine sprigs that
are coming out of the north trees. As
the wind blows we see more Maple leaves
with limbs coming down besides bark!
We fought this in the past and then the
past winter watched the two trees go
crashing into the north neighbor's house.

This morning was my morning to cleanup!
I took a full bag off the north beds of evergreen
sprigs, bark and more Maple Seeds. Those
tree are in distress! Then I turned to Sable's
area and what a mess! I took a full bag off that
area also and a half bag off where the truck parks.
What a mess!!

Today with the wind blowing I removed
3/4 of a pickle bucket off the north of the
house, leaves, pine needles, sprigs, maple
seeds, moss, and bark! I had to pick it
up 3 times!!

I took one full bag off the one north
bed of pine twigs. They were to
large to vac up most of them. I will
have to rake the strawberry bed duel
to there is so much.
Then I took another bag and half off
Sable's gravel area as the east tree
are still dropping debris. The fall
debris is starting to drop. It's been
so dry that the ends of the branches
are dying and becoming bare.
The leaves are already falling here.

Was able to get back out to the north
bed and took 3/4 bucket off that
area of pine debris and all the leaves
that came down with the strong wind.
It's been a daily thing to pick up the
leaves that come down.

Haven't been able to get outside until
today due to the smoke and high temps.
Today was cleanup day and I took a
full bag off Sable's area and the garden
bed north of the house. The north trees
are starting to drop leaves and pine tree
is really dumping junk in our yard. I'll
be out raking what I couldn't vac up. It's
covered all over out there. When I mowed
there was more junk that grass clipping!

off the north yard. It's time again to clean the
north garden beds that are again full of pine.

Today was the day to vac up the leaves!! Yep
it's that time of year to start vacing them up!
Then I tackled the north property line where the
pine trees drop needles, seeds, twigs and more
leaves. I took a full bag off this area! What a
mess and you should see the tree roots that are
choking our landscape!

It was clean up the yard day after the high
winds we had with that last storm. A full
8 bags of needles! 6 from the east trees and
2 from the north trees after blowing off both
the shed and house roofs. Let it rain!! Allen
took a bucket off the gutters that I couldn't
blow out. The circle was full of yellow
leaves that got blown back to the east.

I took 1/2 bag off the front yard of our
own leaves and stuff that fell to the
ground from the roof cleaning. Still working
on cutting back the Perennial Hibiscus beside
dropping trees into the ground. It was so great
to get the 3 potted rose of sharons into the
ground!

Today was the day to get out and start the clean
up of the yard, yet again! I started by shaking out
the plastic that was covered with needles after it
blew off the greenhouse due to the wind. I brought
it into the garage to dry out overnight. I was able to
get it up and retaped. We will see if it stays on due to
the wind we are having this evening. Why cover the
greenhouse with plastic. If you saw the needles and sap
you would understand. Then the next step was to get
the vac out and pick up the needles that covered the
ground/Sable's area, walkway and into the flower beds.
3 1/2 full bags of needles from the east trees.
2 bags of leaves from the north
1/2 bags of mixed leaves and needles in a
flower bed from both north and east.
Then at 4PM I was back out picking up the
leaves which filled my pickle bucket half full.
I'll be back out on Friday to clean up again as
there are needles on the deck this evening.

Yep, back out and on both roofs to blow off
the needles and gutters. Then to vac them up!
I recleaned everything I did on Thursday.
3 1/2 bags of leaves and needles!
Then it was my day to mow!! Due to the
two storm fronts headed our way this weekend.
I started the cut back of the yard. 70% of it
done and will finish when the weather permits.
Got done just at 4 pm when the first drops of
rain hit. I'll be working in the garage this weekend
doing the clematis collection.

Was able to get out between the rain drops and
pickup the leaves that have come down from the
north trees. I took a full bag and 1/2 off the north
yard and then went and picked up 1/2 bag of our
own leaves from the front yard. I worked also from
the garage to get more of the clematis cut back and
they are lined up in the garage. Down to the 5 potted
and 2 in the ground. All are blooming so I'll work on
some of the roses first.

I took 4 bags of leaves and needles off the north and east
yard this morning! It's been to wet to vac up stuff that
come from neighboring yards. You can see they don't
care what this does to our health! The north burning
is really doing damage! Who cares?? You can tell how
much burning they are doing by looking at their trees!
You can see from the shed roof it needs cleaning again!
Just covered with needles!!
Let's just say we get any damage from these tree, they
will be in front of a judge!!

I also blew the leaves back out of the
circle and blew off our driveway that
was covered with pine needles. Our shed
roof is totally covered with needles.
We are to have 35 mph winds from the
NE tomorrow so guess where I'll be??

Today was a mix if leaves and needles,
a full bag and then DH swept off the shed
roof and took a full pickle bucket and a
half off that area. It's becoming a daily
task to keep the area clean. Behind the
shed is covered in needles.

Well I started my day on the house roof
blowing the needles and leaves out of the
gutters. What a mess!
I then vac up the yard below. I took 4 and
1/2 bags of leaves. 1 bag of mixed leaves
and pine needles. 1 1/2 bags of just needles.
Then I vac up our leaves out front which was
1/3 of a bag.
None of these are our leaves or needles all coming
from neighboring trees!
The say we are looking at a week of rain!!

I came home to one heck of a mess this morning.
I vac up 3 bags of leaves, 1 mixed bag of leaves
and pine needles and 3 bags of pine needles. Plus
took the blower to the circle again!
People with trees here do not pick up after them,
they just leave the mess in the roadway and hope
it blows to their neighbors' house.

I vac up a full bag of leaves and pine needles this
morning! With this afternoon's rain, one can't tell
it was all cleaned up. I don't do molds and won't
leave the mess on the yard.
Then I venture out to clean the circle again. One
neighbor had a yard crew come in and clean up their
property. Well they left one huge mess in the roadway!
Plus left what flew in another neighbor's yard. What
a mess!

Yesterday's storm was a bad one. I just thank our
lucky stars that no limbs or trees came down.
There was no way could clean up the whole yard
in one day! I took 2 1/2 bags off Sable's area alone!
That is after I just vac up the area 2 days ago.
Behind the classic car I took 1 bag of mixed leaves
and pine needles. Then I tackled the leaves!
6 full bags and I didn't get much cleaned up as the
wind kicked up and more came down.
So I picked up the nana leaves and let me tell you the
maple leaves are all over the hosta beds. So tomorrow
I will be my day to clean up the hosta beds first.
Now you know why I have a bad back and my knees
are shot!
11/8/2023
I started my day up on the roof of the house blowing
off the roof debris. Plenty of pine needles and maple
leaves, then blowing off the deck and moving some
of the leaves around the deck into the grass. Then it
was time to tackle the shed! I swept the needles into
piles so it could be swept into the pan. I removed
2 pickle buckets of needles and leaves. Then 1 bucket
of the same out of the gutters. Then I took the blower
to the roof and picked up what hit the ground. 2 1/2
bags!! Once that was done it was time to blow the
leaves that were on the grass to the west and again
I spent my morning vac them up. When I picked up
the nana leaves yesterday I found maple leaves all
over the hosta bed. So by the time I got the whole
area vac up, I counted 8 1/2 bags of shredded maple
leaves were put in the yard debris bin. It was so nice
to get my yard back! While up on the roof I noticed
the neighbor whom tree dump into our yard was totally
cover with leaves. What a mess!!
Then at 4pm when I took Sable out I took a bucket with
me to pickup what was had come down for a total of 2/3
of a bucket.
11/9/2023
Today I vac up 5 bags before I was able to cut
the 5 clumps of Nanas stalks to the ground. I
was able to place them along the fence as I have
a few squirrels that have dug up a path up under
the fence to get into the yard. I caught one
squirrel looking for the area but there was
nana trunks in the way. It was nice to get
them taken care of finally. I have one more
in the south end to do but those area huge!
I had time to then vac up the yard again and
again I removed 2 bags!
But the wind picked up afterwards and if you
look out the window there is a lot more to keep
me busy for Friday. The pine needles also came
down and cover the driveway and Sable's area.
Ya can't tell I spent 5 hours out there cleaning up!

It was cleanup the yard morning, again!! 5 1/2
vac and shredded bags of later I have my yard back!!
Before I did the leaves I did Sable's area and removed
again 2 vac bags of needles. Then husband cleaned out
the gutter traps and the top of the rain barrels. He remove
2 1/2 pickle buckets of needles to fill the largest Yard recycle
bin that was just emptied last Tuesday.

What a day! 4 huge bags of needles, 5 bags of
leaves and 2 mixed bags of needles and leaves.
Then I was able to vac up the front yard and took
2 bags of leaves from what blew in and our trees.
6 full hours of work to get my yard back after that
wind and rain storm. I also blew the circle out
twice. I just don't get it, how folks fell when their
leaves fall into the street they shouldn't clean up
after them. Hey Clark County those are the folks
that should be charged for cleanup, a fee to help
fund stormwater.

picked up by 5 pm with two trips
out to pick up after the wind hit.

Sable's area was turning yellow so we had
a few hours of a rain break! I was able to
take 2 full bags of yellow needles off her area
and 1/2 bag off the back gravel area behind the
classic car then I vac up the leaves and that made
3/4 bag.

Today was my day to clean up the Hydrangeas
as they had been hit by frost a couple times.
The leaves were just hanging on. I had to strip
and clean up all the leaves, finally getting to our
stuff!! I removed 3 30 gallon cans of leaves!
Now all 14 Hydrangeas are bare and looking
great, plus the ferns are cut down for the winter.

Today was the day to clean up after the huge storms
and it sure needed it! I took 3 1/2 bags off the gravel
areas of pine needles! 1/2 bags of mixed leaves and
pine needles, plus one bag of just leaves. Then I got
to do the front and removed 2 1/2 bags of our leaves
that were on the ground from our shrubs. It is so nice
to be able to get our things cleaned up!! I was able to
get the whole yard vac up and it looks great! Now to
finish the cut back of some plants.

It has been so nice not having to go out and vac
up leaves! The yard look so nice and clean!
I got it all cleaned up prior to taking a trip up
the Gorge to take care of Mom for a few days.

I vac up 2 full bags of pine needles and 1/4 bag
of leaves. Hoping that this will be the last of the
leaves, but won't hold my breath. Pine needles
are still falling!
