NJ's BBB Email 6/30/2022

The above link is our story on our
purchase of LeafGuard Gutter in
2020 and what we have gone through.
After filing a complaint with the
OR BBB which is proper protocol
as the business we hired was from
the OR area.

Long story short LG, violated their
own contract and put the wrong color
gutters up after we were told we
should take what they have cut for our
house and no one else's.  They didn't
resend the new contract at all and
reflex the color or the fact that they
stated that I could paint the gutters
without harming the warranty.   All
we ever got was verbals, nothing in
writing.   We were notified by OR
BBB after the fact they closed our
case due to what LG's attorney wrote.
Again that letter was full of lies and
nothing was in writing at all.  It stated
that Mr. Carman dealt with the issues,
false......I did and I was the one that
had to deal with the 13 leaks.  Then
they come back at us that it was our
roof issue, excuse me the sales person
stated that our older home wouldn't
be an issue.  When I asked if any of
them were roofer, the answer was no.
More can be added to this story.

When I received the email from NJ's
BBB, I was stunned on how they got
the complaint?   It stated that they
were sending our complaint to LG and
they had 10 days to reply.  We were
to sit tight until they did.  Last week
they replied, they thought this issue
was closed.  Then we had 10 days to
reply.  The issue has not been resolved
and I wrote a short email back.

1. LG violated their contract, no resending
to show the changes nor did we sign it.
2. Nothing was in writing as to their offer,
rep stated $5,000 but the Attorney's letter
to OR BBB stated $5,500.  News to us
but she wanted the complaint closed.
We didn't get notice that our complaint was
closed until after it was done.
3. All issues were dealt with by me not
Mr. Carman.
4. The attorney's letter address us by
 another name?
5.  I had to repair many places due to the
leaky gutters before I repainted our home.
6. LG gears their commercials to elderly with
the fear that you can fall off the ladder.  You still
need to clean your roof!
7.  Shouldn't BBB keep these complaints on file
so other customers can see what LG track record
are about?

Now we wait for LG reply or what NJ's BBB
does!

Buyer's Beware

7/8/2022

We got another email this am LG states that
this issue was closed in 2020.

I sent back a email stating that our complaint
was never resolved!

BBB keeps asking if the complaint is resolved
and not closed.

7/13/2022

Again today we got another reply from LG and
they stated that they offered to change the color
of gutters.  This was news to us!!  There is no
letter in our file to this offer for a change of color.

Then I got an email requesting the contract.

7/14/2022

Got another email with a letter from their
attorney........A letter we didn't get??  Makes
me wonder what is going on??   I have 10 days
to reply.

7/18/2022

Yet another letter was sent off to the NJ's BBB
Not much anyone can say at this point.  Leaf
Guard violated the contract and the issue isn't
resolved.  Why was the case close by the OR
Consumer folks and why did they fail to send
the Letter dated 4/29/2020?

7/19/2022

Received an update this morning stating that
they are closing the file and we are dissatisfied
with the company.

We understand that the only way to solve this
issue is to take them to court!  Companies like this
should have on record how they treat their customers
so that other customers know before they buy.  This
is the only way these agencies work.  I also question
the fact that they only had my DH sign the contract
when we live in a state where we both should of
signed it.

Besides have you tried getting something in the
courts during Covid?

Buyer Beware.........there is a serious design flaw
with these gutters and their installation.

8/25/2022

This morning I got an email from Pissed Consumers
where we wrote a complaint about our experience with
Leaf Guard Gutters.  I wrote them back and thanked them
for the video and told them we no longer have LG gutters
on our home after learning about the design issue.  One still
have to get up on the roof to clean off the debris or it will
allow the damp leaves to cause issues.
