2021 Projects

This is the year of projects that didn't get
done in 2020.  With the storm in February
we have now had to add more to the list.

We started off with the new roof after finding
the wind from the north had lifted up the
shingles and we just decided to bite the bullet
as the roof was only 18 years old.  As many folks
that have seen the roof were shocked at the
fact that is was so clean and still had life.
But after the limbs came down we knew
it was just time.

We had a lot of damage so as you can see
from the other post.  We really want to thank our
insurance company for covering the damage
and yes letters with to both the neighbors whos
trees did the damage.   Our roof company was
so great and I can't thank they enough!!  The
guys really did an awesome job!!  Clean up
was also done daily and the inspection was
completed on 3/9/2021!!  It passed!!

Next project will be replacement of the
LeafGuard gutters due to we have had
several issues with them and had to go
to the Attorney General of OR  as
they refused to take care of the issues.
We have had them looked at by several
contractors and they all agree the sooner
we get them off our home and get
gutters that are correctly put up the less
headache we will have down the road.
Don't put them up!!

We will be putting them on Craigslist.
We can't wait to get them removed.

When the weather warms up we then
will be painting the house, shed and
fence!  Lots of projects to be done
this year!!

3/11/2021

New gutters were installed, again thank
you to our contractor for a beautiful job!!
We went with a heavy industrial style of
gutter which is easy to clean and we are
able to remove the debris.

A big thank you Interstate!!  We highly
recommend this company!  Very
professional, great workers, and
no damage to the yard!

#LeafGuard Removed:

These will be listed on Craiglist!!
This past week we have had several
folks contact us about them but
these are already precut and folks
just don't have the ability to move
them.  We are giving them one more
week then we will be cutting them
up and recycling them.

Why are so many folks removing
their #LeafGuard gutters?

They don't work and a total waste.

3/25/2021

We can now say our property is
#LeafGuard gutter free!!

We had 6 folks inquire about the
gutters.   The fifth guy came totally
prepared to get them and was going
to use them on his workshop.  We sure
hope he gets them to work for him.

Those folks that did stop really admired
our new gutters.   It is nice to have gutters
that work and don't leak!

3/26/2021

Today was the day I ordered the 20 cubic
yards of med fir mulch.   Then went out
and purchased 6 gallons of paint!   It will
be nice to have a change of color.

3/30/2021

Mulch was delivered.

I also decided to add black mulch to the mix, so I
will start off with 8 bags of it.

It is also time to edge the grass area.

Time to add the mulch!

4/6/2021

The last of the mulch was put in the yard today!!

Now taking the next few days off before starting
to paint the house.

4/10/2021

Spring cleaning/carpet cleaned was done today
and all I have left is 4 windows.

4/12/2021

Looks like a nice warm week to start the painting!

4/21/2021

Still painting!!  : )  But not today, tree trimmers
next door.

4/27/2021
Still painting  but hope to have it done by this
weekend.

4/29/2021

Today I finished the house!   I can also say the
shed is 2/3 done with the south end going to take
at least 5 days. Plus I have the fence and deck to
paint.

5/20/2021

Today I finished the shed!   But DH said I might
give the peaks another coat of black.

Here is the photos taken:

Time now to plant the garden and take care of
the plants.

I will tell you, we are so glad we removed
the LeafGuard gutters when we did, they
were doing damage to the house.  I had to
scrape so much damage off before painting.

If you watch the commercials where they
show a lot of water coming down, that is
your LeafGuard gutters!!   We had water
coming from behind the gutters and it's
how they were installed.  They don't work
at all if the water comes down from behind
the gutters and debris goes into the gutters.
So they will have to come out to clean them.

I will tell you going to the industrial size
gutters was the best thing we did.  Easy to
clean!!  They sure are doing a great job!!

Wonder what the next project will be?
