Several folks have asked for an update.
The above is the first post on the knee
issue.  After many months of limping,
tests and several doctors' visits I was
given a surgery date of 4/21/2022 at
noonish.  The morning of the 21 I
received a call asking me to be there
2 hours sooner as there was an opening
and they could do the surgery sooner.

The 19th I went in for a covid test and
an ekg which was required before they
would schedule the surgery.

Long story short is they were going
to sew the tears in the right knee called
Meniscus tears.  They preformed a
arthroscopy to the right knee.  To much
damage and then did a partial medical
meniscectomy.   Bless my surgeon Dr.
Cornelius as he saved me from a knee
replacement that is down the road in a
few years.   I was told I had good range
in my knees by another specialist so  I
fought to repair what was needed.  I was
prepared for whatever Dr. Cornelius would
find.  I was told of the dangers and what
to look for.  He is the best and well worth
the pain to have this done right!!  For the
next 4 to 6 months I will have to be careful
and take it easy!

I have a whole list of things I need to avoid
and not do.  I truly thank all the medical staff
that helped get me back on my feet.  Especially
the nurse that put in the IV!  I bruise easily
and this time no bruising at all, she did
an excellent job!!  They even called the
next day to see how I was doing!

The operative findings, procedure detail
were in great detail with the photos that
were taken, not a pretty picture so I will
spare you the mess.  I knew how bad this
was due to the pain and trying to work
through the process.   You see I have had
plenty of medical in my history so I under-
stand and appreciate what was done to get
me back on my feet.  I have a month of
Physical Therapy to look forward to and
need to get used to the crutches which I
found these past couple days I'm allergic
to the rubber that is used.  So this morning
I ordered covers.

Today I was able to get a shower and
redress the knee!!

Not bad on the swelling and bruising,
but I'm allergic to that they used
to clean the leg.

I had a good chuckle at the nurse
that commented on the flip flop
tan I have so early in the season.

5/2/2022

Today was take the stitches out!
Now I can go for a walk if I take it
slow and if I get tired rest!!  Ice if
swelling comes back.  A few other
no nos......but take it slow.  Need to
put the limping days behind me!
